Emotional Health
The Student Wellness Center promotes self-care and stress management practices to UT Dallas students. Stress in college and everyday life is common and can be managed through regular self-care practices, quality sleep behaviors and stress management strategies.
The Student Wellness Center offers one-on-one consultations regarding stress-management, self-care and sleep. The center also provides classroom presentations and large campus events related to sleep and stress management throughout the academic year.

Suicide Prevention Training Part I 60 Minutes
Learning Objectives
- Develop a better understanding of mental health statistics and suicide rates among college students, including the UT Dallas population.
- Identify the behavioral, situational and verbal signs that could indicate that someone may be having thoughts of suicide.
- Learn how to properly question someone about their possible suicidal intentions, mental health struggles and/or other basic needs.
- Be able to identify on- and off-campus resources that can be utilized by UT Dallas students, staff, and faculty, and community members.
Suicide Prevention Training Part II 60-90 Minutes
Learning Objectives
- Develop communication and conflict resolution skills that can be utilized during difficult conversations.
- Review real-life scenarios and participate in role-playing exercises with fellow participants.
- Review supportive resources and clarify reporting processes on and off campus.
- Participants will receive guided support for situations that may occur within their roles.
Note Participants must first complete Suicide Prevention Training Part I.
Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Certificate Program
120 Minutes

- Identify various levels of stress and the associated physical and emotional health impacts of each level.
- Determine self-care activities and other stress management strategies that will help manage stress and prevent high-impact health consequences.
- Identify supportive resources related to academic, emotional health and basic needs.
- Review real-life scenarios and participate in role-playing exercises with fellow participants.
- Participants will receive guided support for situations that may occur within their roles.
