Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to complete these learning activities?
The modules are part of UT Dallas’ commitment to ensuring students are informed about critical topics such as health, safety and wellness. Completion of these programs is required under federal and state law, as well as university policy.
What if I’ve already completed similar training at another institution?
Although we recognize that many of our new students who are joining us from another institution may already have completed these learning activities or similar training, we require all new students to complete this training. Our content has been customized to include resources, support systems and policies specific to the UT Dallas community. We aim to ensure all students have knowledge of these specific resources.
Do graduate and professional students need to complete this training?
Yes, all new students are required to complete the training. These modules support federal compliance with Title IX and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, while also providing information that is relevant and useful at any stage of life. Although graduate students may have completed similar training in prior academic or professional settings, these courses include content and resources specific to UT Dallas policies, expectations and support services.
Will my responses be confidential?
Yes, responses in the modules are confidential and used only for educational purposes or anonymous reporting for program improvement.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Failure to complete the required modules by the deadline will result in a hold on your grades. A grade hold will impact your ability to see your cumulative grade for the semester but will not impact a student’s ability to register for classes. Contact the Student Wellness Center for assistance if you cannot meet the deadline.
What if I am sensitive to the content being shared in the training?
At UT Dallas, we understand that students come to college with many backgrounds and experiences, and some may find certain topics challenging or triggering. Your well-being is our priority.
